Leadership by Leader 5-C

Updated: Oct 23, 2023

“Leading by Leader 5-C”

The buck really does stop with leadership. People come to organizations for jobs... they leave because of managers. This is not to say that either party intended for it to go that way. But often with volumes of leadership resources and advice it is still not clear what key competencies would hit the target with employee retention. Leader 5-C spells out those mission critical competencies:

Change Managing; tools that help the leader react to transform the current situation.

Caring; a shift for managers from being distant, as some are, to being caring (humanistic) reflects well for engaging employees.

Courage is required to getting out of comfort zone to handle a situation in a new way.

Consistency requires a shift from erratic and contradictory approaches to one that is consistent where employees really do know what to expect.

Coaching has taken on more popularity as a tool for many changes that individuals wish to make. Since it is a supportive partnership where leaders and managers can work together, it promotes engagement and avoids a less enriching dictatorial approach.

Talent follows Leader 5C.
